MBFW: Christian Siriano F/W 2011 (yes that model fell hard)

This season I totally lucked up and only stood for two shows. But no seats for Christian's. The house was uber full. I could barely see the collection but I did see that model fall - hard. I feel bad for her I kinda think that maybe she hurt her face?

I thought it was the shoes but Siriano tweeted after the show, "Yes one of my girls fell on the walk back, she is okay, poor girl! The runway was fresh painted and sticky, kudos to those who made it! haha".

Aside from the model's fall his collection was still impressive as usual. The once McQueen intern is banking the bucks with sponsors like Fiji and Payless. He definitely deserves it! Check out the entire collection here.

Essence Magazine Street Style {who know I was stylish}

The opening day of MBFW always brings out the stylish folks. And I am now one of them. This year I said I would live up to my fashion know-it-all reputation and really think about what I was going to wear. (I will add that this ONLY lasted for the first 3 days, it's Monday and I am just worried about covering shows not looking fab!)

My friend (Asia from NYLA Report) and I were on our way to get our Starbucks fix and a guy stopped us and asked for our pictures. I wanted to give the "stank face" because I was feening for coffee but I'm always nice - you never know who is who at fashion week. Inside .. or outside.

DAY ONE "WHAT TY WORE" >>

Many folks wrote off latex-leather-ish leggings but I saved mine from 2 seasons ago and pulled them out for the trip. Go figure that EVERY socialite and fashionista is rocking some type of leatherette pant from tight skirts, to short short shorts, to of course the leggings. I figured I would go for a rocker chick look so I paired it with my black leatherette jacket I got from Torrid.

My H&M circle scarf (I don't know what else to call it?) makes for a really warm accessory. NEWS FLASH >> Leatherette does not keep you warm.

Sequins is another trend that everyone is wearing. It's a great nightlife garment meant to be seen and sparkle so of course the NYFW fabs are sporting this too. Including me - difference is, I opted for the big sequins clutch bag I got from Forever21 2 years ago. Sequins clothing makes me itch?

My mother will be glad to know that I actually wore a pair of shoes that she "regifted" to me. I needed a cute small heel that would be strong with me for the 9 hour days I would be standing/walking during MBFW. My new Easy Spirits that I am sure my mother got from HSN.com held up nicely.

Again, all of my style efforts and my need to be stylish wore off today and I am back to plain ole me. I enjoyed me life in the style file though!

MBFW: Ruffian F/W 2011

What an amazing 9am treat Ruffian was!? At first I was really bitchy because I was up at for me what seemed like the crack of dawn. But when all my favorite materials came down the runway I was elated!

Sequins, ruffles, shiny jackets - This is fashion. I had never heard of this designer until this week but I gotta say they have just acquired a new cheerleader.

Tuxedo Park was Ruffian's take on fashion's semi formal wear. It was a clever way to combine classic menswear with an edgy girl look.

This was one of the first videos I did with my new Sony Bloggie so it's a little lot out of focus at times. ENJOY.

It's NYFW: And I am pooped

Since my arrival at the tents on Thursday (2/10) I have not had a chance to stop. I can't complain at all though. I've met some amazing fashion bloggers, singer Deborah Cox, iconic stylists June Ambrose and Robert Verdi. I was shot for Essence Magazine's street style, even found the "luxury bathroom" under the tents, and I was upgraded to front row during the Toni Francesc show by pr guru Kelly Cutrone (People Rev) herself. I'll say I have had a pretty awesome time thus far.

I have a large break today so stay tuned I have tons of posts coming!

I LOVE MY BLOG - INTERVIEW

It's Saturday and I have nothing planned so of course I jumped into the blogosphere again. Blog Surfin is one of my favorite things to do. I meet new fab bloggers and get inspired all over again.

I've been following Burn The Blonde for a few months and today I decided to dig deep into her blog. I found a pretty cool post which happens to be an awesome way for you guys can get to know me better. *winks*

After you read my answers leave a comment and answer the questions too.

1 - Why did you create your blog? Hmm, well in real life I am extremely shy (who know!). I wanted to find a way to connect with new folks who shared my likes, visions, and got just as excited about those new Jeffrey Campbell platforms as I did.

2 -What kind of blogs do you follow? Of course I read the big dog blogs like WWD, Fashionista, and TheYBF but I also love reading blogs that might not be as well known. I have found most of the blogs I love via Twitter. I love personal style blogs, and lifestyle blogs. I usually take a lazy weekend day and spend it reading blogs.

3 - Favorite makeup brands? I wear MAC mineralizer FAITHFULLY. Everything else is random to what I find on sale or what's given to me.

4 - Favorite clothing brands? That would have to be Forever 21. It's really the only US brand that really gets trendy plus size clothing. I was recently introduced to thrifting by my stylist friend Sheena from Superficial Glamour. Once I get past the grandma smell of thirft store I just might fall in love with vintage items.

5 - Your indispensable make-up product? SmashBox lipgloss - ILLUME & EXPOSE. I am a nude lip chick.

6 - Your favorite colour? PURPLE I remember it like yesterday. It was my 6th birthday party and my mother surprised me with a gift that I could open before the party started. YAY! It was my birthday outfit. A purple jumpsuit. That was the day I fell in love with purple.

7 - Your perfume? FlowerBomb by Victor&Rolf.

8 - Favorite film? Love Jones, Love And Basketball, and Boomerang. I know EVERY SINGLE WORD to each of these movies. They were all released in my 20's; a time where I really found out who I was and which way I wanted to go (even though that remains a constant question). These movies have become the soundtrack to my life.

9 - What country would you like to visit and why? I want to visit Japan (soon). The culture, the fashion, the food is so fascinating to me. This is definitely on my bucket list.

10- Write your own question and answer it yourself - Is your hair really grey, or did you dye it?

YEEEEEEEESSS my hair is really grey. I'm prematurely grey, it's heredity ... or whatever you want to call it. I use to dye my hair but when I turned 25 (now I am 34) I decided to embrace my "sophisticated side". And my hair was falling out from dying it every 2 weeks.

So there you have it - ME.

5 Amazing V-Day Gifts for the BFF

IMAGE CREDIT: GETTY IMAGESValentines Day is literally tomorrow. Although society tells us it's a holiday to celebrate the bond we have with our lovers we often forget about our besties.

You know those people we run to when our lovers goof up, the ones we call on when our lovers have left town, or the ones we call on when we just need a break.

1.) CLASSY: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady by Derek Blasberg

I've been a fan of editor icon Derek Blasberg since The Blasblog on Style.com. Nothing short of AMAZING things have been said about this humorous style guide. I really hope my besties take this as a hint and purchase this for me. With style tip charts like "Lady VS Tramp" and "Good Boy VS Gay Boy", I am sure your besties will love this book too.

Available for sale at Amazon.

2.) Wish for the Perfect Pout from SMASHBOX Cosmetics

If your bff is like mine, they may have a little trouble creating the perfect pout.

Help them add a little perfection with one of my fav gloss brands. I have about 5 or 6 lipglosses from SMASHBOX, so it's probably safe to say this is my fav.

3.) Forever21.com Boys [Heart] Me tank

I really wish this shirt said "My Milkshake Brings All The Boys to the Yard" but I guess this will do.

Hopefully this might help your single besties snag a man, or at least a good laugh, right!

4.) BOLDLOFT "Catch My Love" Couple Coffee Mug Set

Oh how uber cute are these! And they make for great "re-gifting". Your bff can give them to her guy or a future guy, LOL.
