My complaint - the lack of "trendy" plus size retailers. My solution - Trendy retailers just need to make plus size garments.
So just as I was complaining about this topic to one of my bloggeristas Kee from iStyleLikeMe in walks H&M.
H&M releases this statement:
This spring H&M presents Inclusive – a one-off collection of colourful and feminine fashion with lots of attitude in a wider than usual range of sizes.
The twenty pieces will be available in sizes 32-54 and will be sold exclusively through H&M Online from early March. The collection includes figure-flattering party dresses in 50’s styles with large polka dots and rose patterns, as well as skirts, tops, cardigans and lingerie following the same theme.
The capsule collection pictured above features two gorge curvy divas, Lauren McKenzie and Robyn Lawley. In case you're wondering what Euro sizes 32-54 converts to ... it's US sizes 6-24. I'm an 18 - Yippee!
However remember we said exclusively online. H&M does not ship to the US yet.
Thank you H&M for inflating and deflating my big happy blog post all in one short breath. *sighs*
As I read the press release I did notice that no where did it mention the words plus size, missy, full figured, fattie, or anything of sorts. Why not just say "Inclusive – a plus size collection exclusively for H&M Online". Perhaps it's because of their original plus size collection BiB Collection (Big is Beautiful) sizes 18-28 is also online.
I can only speculate that this line isn't doing so well (I will have to do more research). From the looks of the online pictures it's like a Forever21 knockoff and that just seems wrong.
So where are my UK readers I need a sample!
[Update: While reading up about the collection I found this: "The online only thing is supposed to be a nod to the way plus size women shop. When Australian designer Leona Edmiston expanded her offering to a size 24 in 2008, her research indicated that many plus sized women buy online because they’re not comfortable shopping in stores." SMDH I love shopping & trying on clothes - when they fit! Their research is crap!]
